Tom was a great individual. He was a very low key guy who was brilliant. Tom was my very close friend. We both graduated the University of Utah in Geolical Engineering. We studied together for hundreds of hours and got ourselves through some really difficult classes.
Tom is recognized by his peers as one of the most able and experienced river guides in the Western States. His greatest love was his wife Stephanie and his daughter Morgan. His passion was the Grand Canyon. He had a successful career with Questar, but in the annals of the legendary River Guides, Tom Yeager was a giant.

Tom suffered for years with bad health, but his perseverence kept him alive and very active. While his health was in a state that would put most of us mortals down, Tom did a solo river run of the Grand Canyon.
Tom exuded the greatest humility of anyone I ever knew. He never desired attention, he liked to party, he was fiercly devoted to his friends and was the best husband and father the world has ever known. I am so very fortunate to have known Tom Yeager.
