Nana Gurholt (Kilgore)

Nana Gurholt (Kilgore)

"Nana"  Our loving wife, mother, sister, daughter-in-law, and friend, Nelly Anne, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 23rd, 2002.  Nelly Anne was born to Grete and Finn Gurholt on December 19, 1951. Nelly Anne graduated from Highland High School in 1970 and continued her education in Drammen, Norway, her family's homeland, at the Leir Husmorskole. Nelly Anne married the love of her life and angel on earth, Karry Kilgore, on May 22nd, 1977. Together they raised three beautiful children, the devotion and pride of her life.  Nelly Anne loved lying in the sunshine, talking to her mother, swimming, reading, exercising and needlepoint work. One of Nelly Anne's favorite things was spending time at her family's cabin with her in-laws Jan and Bill Knibbe. Nelly Anne devoted much of her life to her family's business, Finn's Restaurant. She loved visiting with the customers and continuing the tradition her parents began.  Nelly Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Grete and Finn Gurholt. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Karry Kilgore; her children, Heidi Kelly, Patrick Kilgore, Laura Kilgore, and Laura's fiancé David Voyles; sisters Guri Cecilie Stevenson (Scott), Finnlandia McGowan (Mickey), brother Finn Zakeus Gurholt (Vickey); loving family and friends; and her adored canine grandchildren, Chico, Lucy and Lily. Her life was a gift to all those whose hearts she touched. She will be missed deeply and remembered fondly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Nana and I were wonderful friends. I remember playing at her house when we were young. I loved being around her family. We spent a lot of time at Finn's too. Nana and I lived far apart so we hasd to rely on parents for rides. When my kitty had kittens Nana asked if she could have one. Her parents agreed. She picked a cute little black and white kitten which she named Missy. I remember that cat lived forever... more than 18 years. I loved you Nana!
