In Memory

Fred Behle

Fred Behle

M. Frederick Behle
1952-2021
Fred, 68, Our loving husband, devoted father, adored Papa, and beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home, on February 25, 2021, after an 11 year, well fought battle with melanoma cancer.

Fred was born July 15, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Susan Behle. Fred grew up in the foothills of the Wasatch mountains where he developed his love for the outdoors. He loved to go off roading in his Jeep and was an avid snow skier who spent time racing down the slopes and working on the ski patrol.

Fred graduated from Highland High School. Soon after high school he was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Questions Fred had about the plan of salvation were answered by the missionaries, and he “knew it was true.” He was baptized a member at the age of 18 and served a 2-year mission in Dublin, Ireland just a year after being baptized. After Fred’s mission, he served as a medic in the Air Force.

Fred met his eternal sweetheart, Debbie, while attending the University of Utah. Fred saw this “fox” and said it was love at first sight. Debbie quickly stole his heart, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Together they have five children: Jason, Brad, Keri, Mike, and Tyler. As a family they enjoyed many adventures such as: camping, hiking, skiing, vacations, and many days spent at the ball field coaching his sons and supporting his princess in her various dance activities. Fred loved his family; they were his everything. He especially loved his eternal sweetheart. Fred was a dedicated scouter and spent many years teaching the youth life lessons. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and often shared it with the people he came in contact with. Fred had a goal to visit all 50 states, which he was able to accomplish with his sweetheart by his side. He was a hard worker and took great pride in all that he did and tried to instill that ethic into his kids. Fred’s dedication to his profession was evident as he fervently worked on his laptop in the ICU while recovering after having brain surgery. No matter what job was placed in front of him, he gave it his all and excelled in many ways, all while being loved and respected by those he came in contact with.

In his last few months, Fred’s children were blessed to take part in his care as they followed the example of his loving wife, his earthly “angel”, who selflessly and gently cared for his needs with all the love and compassion one could give. We take comfort knowing that Fred is reunited with his eldest son, Jason who passed away 16 years earlier.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Debbie, his children Brad (Jena), Keri (Jordan), Mike (Kelly), Tyler (Rochelle), and 16 grandkids, who he absolutely adored and who adored him. He is preceded in death by his son, parents, father-in-law, and other loved ones.

The family would like to thank Canyon Home Health and Hospice and the many other doctors for their loving care throughout his courageous battle.
