Janet Poulton (Spilker)

St. George, UT- Janet Spilker, peacefully passed away surrounded by her children and grandchildren, on Monday afternoon, May 12, 2025, in St. George, Utah, at the age of 73. She loved her wonderful husband, Clark Spilker, marrying in 1975 and had recently celebrated 50 amazing years together. Their marriage brought forth five incredible children: Clinton (Carrie) Spilker, Zachary (Jamie) Spilker, Jacob (Brittany) Spilker, Nicholas (Kenna) Spilker, and Natalie (Drew) Adams. Janet adored her role as grandmother and leaves her legacy with 16 grandchildren, along with brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Janet was born on December 4, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, a truly Christlike woman in all her actions. She was known for continuously serving those around her including her community and church. Anyone who knew Janet truly could feel her genuine love for them.

Janet has been reunited with her father, John Poulton and mother, Nancy Richards Poulton. She grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and is survived by her two brothers and two sisters: Rick (Carla) Poulton, Don (Amy) Poulton, Marianne (Mike) Towers, and Kathy (Brett) Morgan. She attended Highland High school and graduated in 1970. Following high school she worked in Hawaii for 6 months then in Zion's National Park, and she also managed a sandwich and pizza restaurant in Trolley Square. Later she attended the University of Utah. Throughout her life she enjoyed and was loyal to many friends. Some of her favorite hobbies included tennis, horseback riding at the Pines Family Cabin, and family vacations to Sun Valley California. She also enjoyed taking family trips to Catalina Island, California where she spent sunny days aboard the Jennie Blue cooking everyone's favorite meals while the kids went scuba diving and fishing.

From 2001-2023 Janet joined her oldest son, Clint, and worked as a realtor where they were known as the Spilker Team at Coldwell Banker Premier Realty. All those who worked with Janet in business and in the community adored her and truly saw how much dedication and love she put into her work. In addition to her hard work outside the home she was also admired for her award winning cooking within the home. Her grandkids loved coming over for Sunday meals at Nana's house.

Janet's life mission was to serve as Christ served, to love others as He would, and to bring others closer to the Savior. She succeeded in every aspect of that mission and she will be missed dearly. Her love, kindness, joyfulness, and energy for life is contagious and will continue on in her children, grandchildren, and in all of whom spent time with her. She will continue to be the yellow radiant beam of sunshine in the lives of her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 1835 S Washington Fields Rd, Washington, UT 84780. A viewing will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the same location. Interment and dedication will follow in the Washington City Cemetery located at 300 Parkview Drive Washington, UT 84780.
