Berney Briggs

Berney Briggs

Berny Rosmait Briggs 1951 ~ 2007 Berny was born December 8th, 1951 to Barlow and Barbara Rosmait Briggs. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from Highland High School in 1970. He attended the University of Utah and Utah State University for three years. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years at the Bountiful office. During his postal Career, he was involved with employee union activities. He was married to Cindy Roberts Briggs from 1981 to 2000. They had numerous cats over the years that Berny loved; calling them his kids. He enjoyed Jazz games and traveling with Cindy. In 2001, he married Nancy Scoville. He loved being a father to her two sons, and missed his association with them after he and Nancy divorced. Berny was a kind-hearted man. He always had a soft spot for those less fortunate than himself. He loved to golf, although he occasionally trimmed the treetops with a flying iron! In his younger years, he also enjoyed fishing. Berny loved and admired his father. Berny was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, who died when Berny was only 8-years-old. We know he is finally in her loving arms. He is survived by his father Barlow (Adell) Briggs; his sister Jennifer (Arnold) Briggs West; nephews and nieces, Joey, Andy, Cora, and Camille. His great nephew and niece, AJ and Claire had an innocent love for their Uncle and will miss giving him hugs at Sunday dinner. Berny died May 12, 2007. Private memorial services Saturday, May 19th at his sister's home. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
