John K. Dallimore

"Rest In Peace My Love"
John K. Dallimore, 64, died Tuesday, March 21 2017, at his home in Cottonwood Heights of relentless Lymphoma.
John was born in Salt Lake City on August 8th, 1952 to Keith and Kathryn Rotzler Dallimore. He attended Highland High School and the University of Utah where he earned Bachelor's degrees in English and History.
He married Melody Morgan on 6/14/1980 in Millcreek Canyon. They were married for 37 adventure filled years. Together they have a daughter and a son, Morgan Dallimore and Jake Dallimore.
One of John's greatest passions in life was golf. He loved the game in its purest form. He especially enjoyed teaching and playing golf with his son Jake. Jake will always remember his father's mantra, "Take it back low and slow".
John was an excellent athlete and especially loved coaching. He coached young basketball and hockey players to win local championships.
He had a fine intellect and a true love for literature and the English language. He had a mind for trivia and facts, especially concerning music, sports, and politics. He was a beautiful writer and had many "letters to the editor" published in the Tribune. John was a funny, funny man who made people laugh with his quick and oftentimes outrageous humor. He could be charming and clever and was a truly outspoken independent thinker.
John was a gentleman and dressed like one. He loved the Nordstrom Semi Annual Men's Sale, German cars, being downtown, talking with all types of people, and animals, especially rescue dogs.
He loved his children dearly and did everything possible to provide them with opportunities to have a full and happy life.
Professionally, John was a stockbroker/financial planner for many years. He was also an entrepreneur, salesman, and worked at a local business newspaper.
He became an excellent advocate for people with disabilities and served as a past board member and President of the Camp Kostopulos Foundation.
John is survived by his wife Melody; daughter Morgan; son Jake; three siblings Joan (Jeff) McDonald of California, Sue (Tim) Swenson of Washington, and Kris (Kendrick) Bytheway of Salt Lake City. He is preceded in death by his parents and many, many good friends.

Very sad to see John has passed. He had a great sense of humor ... every day you would typically hear someone yell, "Hey Dallimore, get over here."  He was in my junior year English class and never stopped asking questions, making comments, finding humor in just about anything. He loved to read. He was both interesting and interested. And, he could run like a cheetah ...  lean, mean and fast.
