Thomas Leonard Dunn
1952~2014

Our beloved husband and friend, Thomas Leonard Dunn, passed away July18, 2014 

Tom was born January 11, 1952 in San Francisco, CA to Dixie Lee Hartigan and Thomas Hartigan. Tom was raised by his wonderful adoptive father Dick Dunn and as a family they moved to Salt Lake City when Tom was a young boy.

Tom married the love of his life, Martie Mathews, on October 10, 1988 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they made their home and life together.

Tom honorably served his country from 1969 to 1972 in the Vietnam War as an infantryman in the United States Army.

Tom worked as a painter and operated his own painting business in the Salt Lake Valley for over 25 years.

Tom loved spending time with his many friends and always had a joke to make you laugh or a story to share. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed attending the Las Vegas NASCAR races every year with his father-in-law.

Tom was an amazing husband with the patience of jobe. He was a good friend and neighbor and will be remembered most for his kindness to others and willingness to lend a hand.

Tom is survived by his wife, Martie Mathews, Salt Lake; ; Mother, Dixie Lee Younderian, Stanford, MO.; father-in-law and best friend, Lin Dial, Salt Lake, and four half-brothers; Dan, England; Matt, Mike and Robert Hartigan, Sacramento CA; and stepsister, Sharon Zumwalt, ID.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of the Veterans Administration Hospital MICU for their care and kindness during his illness.
