James K Henderson

"Do A Good Turn Daily"
James Kenneth Henderson passed away February 23, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim was born March 11, 1952 in Salt Lake City Utah, the son of Ralph Kenneth and Betty Gene Joseph Henderson. Jim graduated from Highland High School in 1970 and Utah State University with a Bachelors in Watershed Science and Management in 1976. He married Christine Reynolds June 21, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He was part owner in the family business at Henderson Wheel and Warehouse Supply where he started as a salesman while attending USU. After receiving his bachelors, he worked in the warehouse as a counterman and then became an outside salesman. He spent most of his career on the road, taking care of the Henderson's Trailer accounts. He enjoyed getting to know the customers he called on and developed lifelong friendships with many of them.
Jim had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed bicycling, snowmobiling, and watching a good football game - particularly the Utah State Aggies. His greatest love was scouting. He loved serving his fellowman and working with the boys. Jim served in many scouting positions - 2 wood badge staffs, a member of the district training team, was able to attend and participate in 4 National Scout Jamborees, two as a young boy scout and the other two as scoutmaster- 1985 Jamboree in Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia and 1997 Jamboree East Coast Tour. Many lasting memories were formed at the jamborees. He received the District Award of Merit in November of 1986 and the prestigious Silver Beaver Award in 2000.
