In Memory

Pamela Richardson (Card)

Pamela Richardson (Card)

Pamela Richardson Card, a spectacular, friendly soul, died suddenly at home Monday, June 6, 1994, from one too many combustions of her fabulous heart. With her first, devastating heart attack in 1988, life's pains and sorrows became all too real,

but her amazing spirit and steam roller style took charge of recovering her life against all odds. Her humor was keen, her perceptions sharp. Her life is a marvelous tribute to strength and joy.

She treasured Tim, her nearly six year old son; loved music, games, projects, camping, all adventure, family, friends, and strangers. People intrigued her. She fearlessly strove to improve the inequities of this world (unfortunately knew many of them personally). Beside Abbey, she was the underdog's best friend. She gave unselfishly to countless endeavors and always had a cheerful, fine time. Her work for the Capitol Hill Neighborhood Council, Community Gardens, and West High Peer Court, is a tender testament to genuine good will.

Born in Salt Lake, July 30, 1952, to Carol Lee and Acel Wayne Richardson, she was the fourth of six children of those parents. Carol died when Pam was 6. Acel married Marge Thorson in 1960 and a seventh child was born two years later. Pam adored her brothers, Lee, LeGrand, Doug, Don, and Brian, and was devoted to her wonderful, best-friend sister, Ellen, who died last year.

Pam married Rhett Card in 1984; divorced in 1990. She graduated from Weber State as a Registered Nurse and had worked at Holy Cross, St. Mark's, and VA Hospitals, most recently in kidney dialysis.
