John Tippets

John Brent Tippets was born to John Maxwell Tippets and Gloria Dickie Tippets in Cody, Wyoming on October 10, 1951. John's family moved to Salt Lake City in the 1960's.
John graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City, and served his LDS Mission in San Antonio, Texas.
John served in the U.S. Army, first as a Medic, then as a Recruiter, and then in the Army Public Affairs Office at the Pentagon.
John married Patricia Warren on February 2, 1978. Their daughter Jacqueline was born in April, 1979. John and Patricia divorced in 1984. 
John worked for many years for AT&T, his career took him from Salt Lake City to Chula Visa, California, and then to Reno, Nevada. John retired in 1995 and moved back to Salt Lake City.
John struggled with chronic depression for most of his adult life. It was that deep, painful depression that took his life on August 2, 1998.
John was survived by his parents, his daughter and his three brothers and two sisters.
John had an incredible sense of humor, and a quick wit that was tempered by a gentle and caring heart. He was a generous and kind person who will always be remembered by those who loved him.
