Mitzi Knorr Mitchell 1952 ~ 2009 Mitzi Yvonne Knorr Mitchell was born May 31, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walter Knorr and Nona Stutznegger. She graduated from Highland High School and then received a BS degree in Home Economics from the University of Utah. She taught the children of the Granite School District as a "nutrition lady" in the elementary schools. She later taught Child Development and Child Care, and also ran the Preschool, at Taylorsville High School. Most recently she worked at the IHC Child Development Center. She served an LDS mission to Paraguay. Mitzi married Doug Mitchell April 22, 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was known as the neighborhood "Candy Lady". Children adored her. She enriched the lives of all who knew her. Mitzi died at her home in Salt Lake City on February 11, 2009 from breast cancer. She is survived by her husband, James Douglas Mitchell, daughter Amy Margaret, son, Richard Douglas, and grandchildren: Ellie, Lauren, Cole and Olivia. Siblings: Evron Knorr (Kathleen), Kenton Knorr (Dianne), Randall Knorr (Betty), and Cheryl Mitchell (Nathaniel). Many nieces and nephews called her their "Favorite Aunt". Preceded in death by parents
