John E Pino (Teacher)

John E. Pino of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away peacefully on June 10, 2015 at the age of 87 from natural causes.
Born May 7, 1928 in Sunnyside, Utah to Giovanni Pino and Theresa Salvatore. The family moved to Provo/Orem area when John was eight years old. He was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church and attended St. Vincent's regularly.
He attended Lincoln High School and went on to attend Dixie Jr. College in St. George, Utah for two years.
He served in the Korean conflict and upon his return attended Westminster College where he received his Bachelor's degree and teaching certificate. He married his sweetheart, Jane Westwood, in 1956 and they had two children Johny Bradford and Stacey.
John was fortunate to start his teaching career at the newly opened Highland High School, where he taught physical education, health and medical careers. He coached football and basketball and was the head coach of the baseball team. He was fortunate enough to spend his whole teaching career at Highland High School. He made a positive impact on his students and athletes throughout the years.
John loved to golf with his many friends and work in his garden. He grew amazing tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, raspberries and peaches and enjoyed sharing them with all of his friends and neighbors.
John will be loved and missed by his surviving wife Jane, son Johny Bradford (Debbie), daughter Stacey, and granddaughter Georgiann (Manouso David). He is preceded in death by his father Giovanni, mother Theresa, sisters Anne, Mary and Tina, brothers Frank, Lee, Harold, James, Jess and Joe.
In accordance with John's wishes there will be no formal services held. He would want everyone to go shoot a bucket of golf balls in his honor. May his memory be eternal.
