I loved Mrs. Shumway.  She was talented and fun to work with especially on the school plays.  She had a great sense of humor and she was always smiling.  I was good friends with her daughter Cindy, in and out of their home and thought the world of them all.  I hope Cinthia will be at the reunion!        Marcia Pace Ferrin

Mrs. Shumway was a GREAT orchestra teacher.  Orchestra just wasn't a class it was time to prepare for another performance.  She was constantly finding ways for us to perform in and out of school all while building up our repertoire.  She put her whole heart and soul into teaching.  I especially loved the concerto concerts that highlighted the abilities of our most talented musicians.  I had no idea she passed away just a couple of years after we left Highland.

Great lady. She was very talented with music. Her daughter Cindy was fun and a great friend to all of us that were on the Highland 70 Yearbook staff. Our condolances to a great family!

We all have fond memories of Mrs. Shumway--the only name I ever heard.  She was right there when I was in West.Side Story and contributed SO MUCH.  Cindy was one of the first females I had come to consider a good friend--some of her insights must have come from her mom.  We should all be glad they were both there.
